Addy girl,
Today you are TEN, double digits as they say. Ten little fingers and two whole
hands! The thought of that makes my heart flip with
happiness but also takes my breath away all at the same time. The saying goes
the days are long but the years are short and oh this is true for you sweet
girl! As I sit back and think over the past ten years I can remember every
single moment. Every high, every low, every battle, every victory. Every
sleepless night, every doctor’s appointment, hospital stay, every time we held
your hand through a blood draw, doctor’s appointments or procedure. Every time we handed you over to a doctor or nurse but especially the day we were told to take you home and love you because you would not live to see your 2nd birthday. Your past
ten years have consumed every ounce of us and sweet girl we wouldn’t have
traded it for anything in the world.
Ten years ago you came into our world and gave us the
titles Mommy and Daddy. We have watched you grow into a beautiful, strong and
determined little girl. You have taught us so much about life. Patience, understanding, endurance and forgiveness. How to love unconditionally and how
to be the best person we can be. You have
taught us that sometimes life doesn’t go as planned but through it all God is
loving and faithful. You have taught us to always find joy in the journey and
to trust God even in our darkest and scariest moments. Together, we have had tears and
laughter, struggles and celebrations but through it all we can say we always had each other.
I don’t know what the future holds for you but I do know
that we will be with you every step of the way. You have turned our world upside down and
inside out from moments before your birth but through it all we have always
known you were created for something BIG. You are one of our greatest joys and
being your mommy and daddy is something we will never take for granted. Always remember to NEVER GIVE UP,
BELIEVE IN MIRACLES, because you my girl are one! You are braver than you believe,
stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
Happy 10th Birthday sweet girl, we love you to the
moon and back always and forever!
